Hardcore web designer

Signs, Signs, everywhere a Sign.
Bitbox has put a list of signs together designed to help you find out whether you are a hardcore web designer. Even if you’re not, it’s a fun read and you’re bound to get some good insight in the world of us creative types.

Here are some of the signs I’m guilty of:

  • You’ve almost rear-ended the car in front of you because you were analyzing a font on a billboard.
  • You can use keyboard shortcuts at light speed, blindfolded, but you can’t type a paragraph of text without staring at the keyboard.
  • You consider meals interruptions.
  • You clean your keyboard more often than you wash your car.
  • You’ve Photoshopped out a watermark for a comp or mock-up. (I ended up buying the image)
  • You’ve totally slaughtered a great design concept because the client thinks he/she knows best. (everyone thinks they are a designer)
  • You bookmark a resource more often than you have a fun night out on the town.
  • You can’t go to a restaurant without secretly critiquing the menu design. (huh, I guess I do go out every so often)

The Hardcore addendum.
Here are a few other signs that I came up with. This can be a part 2, an addendum or whatever you like.

  • You dream in pixels.
  • You have a growing collection of ADOBE T-Shirts
  • You bite your toungue everytime someone tells you about the site their sibling designed for them.
  • You send nasty emails to people with really ugly web sites telling them to cease and desist.

There’s nothing wrong with being a hardcore web designer. Just don’t expect any non-design types to understand.

Do you have any signs of your own you’d like to share. Comment away!
